How to Stop Your Inner Critic
It began with the angry thought “It’s all your fault” and became “you’ve destroyed everything”
Down the slippery slope I went into self pity and anger at myself for behaving the way I had. I thought I’d acted from love, I thought I was helping and being a great Mum, I thought I was expertly solving their problems..well apparently not so and I got hauled over the coals…shocked, hurt and trying not to be defensive but privately…I went into full on punishment mode. The inner critic was having a field day with me..though I struggled to not be overwhelmed as I knew I shouldn’t get trapped in this…but..I’m human too!!

It’s been a massive time for getting to know yourself!
On a whole new level!
Even if you felt you’ve done lots of work on yourself, felt pretty ok with yourself. You’ve probably discovered the darkest thinking that has been quietly undermining you for years.
Now call this your ego or inner critic, negative thinking, monkey mind or whatever you want.
The problem is the inner critic will do to you whatever the hell it likes when you’re scared of it.
But Ruth if I’m thinking it, it must be true? Right?
Well no. Our minds are like an encyclopedia of the past..everything you’ve heard is tucked away in there and if you felt it….Woah that means it feels real..even though it’s not.
Telling yourself you should…why didn’t you…?
Ah yes the never ending search to be the best. Started as a child..be a good boy, be a good girl. Get good grades at school, be the best, win..
So endlessly you’d be looking at how to be better than you just are…so the inner critic becomes the look out, points out to you where you are going wrong
Take your punishment
Often there is not alot of reward so punishment becomes the way to try to get yourself to change.
Nagging at, and at yourself, to try to get you to do it differently.
Feeling bad inside..again all about getting you to change.
This is the problem with the inner critic…no acceptance of you..no being ok as you are
Dropping deeper than the words and feelings
After having a major tantrum with myself for wanting to be right and wanting to punish myself for being unaware of the consequences of my actions and thoughts. I became aware that this was a deeper process for looking at myself. ( Surprise)
Not having been aware that this old inner critic still existed in some way I knew I needed to surrender. I knew I’d come out the other side even though I still fought it as I had to let go of all beliefs about love, me and my relationships with others.
Always always when you drop in deeper than the inner critic you land in deeper peace and love than ever before.
Why I surrendered
No more inner conflict, feeling torn with how I wanted to behave and what was wise and aligned.
Not wanting the internal anger at myself and getting the upper hand with others. ( is no upper hand)
Not wanting the attacking of myself, self hatred…complete waste of time and energy as it just makes you ill.
Knowing the inner critic was meaningless and that anew way of living was ready for me
Wanted the freedom I could feel was there but hadn’t realised I could have

How to Surrender Remedy
After allowing yourself to vent…say outloud to yourself all the thoughts that are tumbling out until there is no more ( car a good place)
Accept that whatever needs to be let go of you are willingly doing this for this process ( this is massive as you’re basically saying you are prepared to let go of every connection to your life and trust what remains)
Give yourself time to be silent. (As if sitting at the movies just killing time)
Just watch, listen, feel it as if dead to it, numb just there until it’s over.
You may feel yourself going deeper and quieter with less thoughts about it all.
A shift of feeling will happen where you feel you’ve sunk down into peace and the critic has been replaced with peace, calm, no thought or feeling about the original onset problem.
There will be an awareness of a different way of handling things that has lightness and ease.
Be humble
For me the word humble started to repeat over and over…I felt challenged by this and as I let it be, started to become curious about how this could be different for me..
When I looked up the word humble I discovered in Hawaiian culture it is a value which is part of spiritual growth and called ha’a ha’a
“A humble person walks in a friendly world. He or she sees friends wherever he or she looks, wherever he or she goes, whomever he or she meets. His or her perception goes beyond the shell of appearance and into essence. ”
Bam it all made sense…
I felt so grateful that after tearing at myself, when l actually surrendered and followed it to it’s natural conclusion ..wisdom …brought me to a place of such deep peace.
My new place
I accepted my freedom in a new way that I had always wanted but felt wrong to have
I saw others as whole and not needing me to make it better for them
Where the inner critics words were now powerless as none was true in the first place it was simply words and pain linked together.
A deeper connection to myself and you

How to be an Empath and Free of Taking It On
When you’re an empath, sensitive to others or feel others energy and feelings we feel totally overwhelmed, confused, start believing you’re not coping or you’ve got it wrong. For instance, you may notice that you’re questioning yourself, trying to dig up what’s wrong, asking “why am I feeling this way?”
I was out doing my food shop yesterday and could feel everyone was having a hard time. They felt lonely and sad because of the difficult circumstances we’re living in.
I get it. We’re all feeling this way. Right now a lot of us feel like a deep emptiness that we can’t change, and so we’re acting out in old behaviours and fearful patterns.
When you’re an empath, sensitive to others or feel others energy and feelings we feel totally overwhelmed, confused, start believing you’re not coping or you’ve got it wrong. For instance, you may notice that you’re questioning yourself, trying to dig up what’s wrong, asking “why am I feeling this way?”
When we feel others energy, feelings, it’s very important to keep on top of it. By getting back to you, we take the pressure off ourselves. This way we keep ourselves from getting caught up with others, which only perpetuates the feelings that everything is too hard and overwhelming.
And that’s what I did and do to keep my energy clear and peaceful.

When you have the remedy for mood swings and changes, you’ll feel empowered and peaceful. You won’t melt down because you’ll identify the problem and have the instant solution.

Spiritual Remedies to reset your mood, body & energy
These remedies are for when you feel a shift in feeling for yourself…you may suddenly notice you feel sad, or lonely or want to cry or feel angry.
It’s the shift that comes from nowhere. One minute you felt ok the next you’re oddly feeling different.
It comes during or after you’ve spoken to others. You’d probably say it’s empathy, or mirroring or you really felt for them.
It can be a pain in the body that wasn’t there before.
At this time people are feeling emotions that they haven’t felt before. They are sharing very similar experiences. So the level of emotions on the planet is at an all time high.
What this means for you is that you’re like a filter…
You need to be filter all with love..see it as coming to you and being cleaned and returned.
The problem with this is if you probably don’t realise that feeling does not mean holding, experiencing, owning, keeping! You then add to the problem as it builds and accumulates in you. Then you can’t change it as it’s not yours!
What you can do is acknowledge it and return in a clearer, loving state.
Here’s what I do
1. Love letter
This remedy has become so ingrained that it happens automatically for me now whenever I am out or around others.
3 breaths and 3 steps…repeat
Stop and take a breath
Be aware of the feeling inside breathe out
Take a breath..Rub the palms of your hands together as if washing your hands
Breathe out as you extend your right hand and arm out as if handing a letter to someone
Take a breath and take your left hand down to your crotch and run your hand infront of your body up the centre to the top of your head and over the back to your neck. Breathe out as you do this. As if doing up a zip
Repeat step 1-5
Check in and see if the feeling, the body pain has gone
If it’s no longer there you have sent the love letter.
If you are still feeling it…then it’s yours! So you can do the Blowing a Kiss Remedy
2. Blow a kiss
This remedy is the corner stone for all spiritual work and I have been using it daily for years. You can use it specifically for shifting the surfacing feelings that maybe there after completing the Love Letter Remedy..
The remedy has 3 steps :
Notice the physical feeling in your body
Choose to be free
Blow the feeling out of your body
Notice the feeling
The first step is to be aware of the feeling in your body and mind. In any moment you will notice the feeling of tension, breathlessness, headache, looping thoughts, anxiety. Be gentle when you notice this as in that moment you can choose to be free of it.
Choose to be free
Instead of swallowing the feeling, shoving it deep inside, tightening your mouth and body, spiralling into looping thoughts of anxiety. You now know you can be free of these. Your thoughts and physical feelings surface to release, not play out over and over again. You get to choose not to feel this way. You get to release it from you because you know there is peace under this.
Blow and release
You simply softly part your lips. Relax your jaw and gently blow out until all feeling has been released. Pay attention to breathing in and blowing out gently. Continue this cycle until your body feels clear and your mind has relaxed.
You can do this anywhere, anytime. Through parting your lips a little, choosing to be free of that feeling, those thoughts and beliefs. You can simply blow them out of you. This releases the feeling, taking with it the thoughts and beliefs as you reclaim your peace.
This very simple yet powerful remedy quickly addresses old patterns and beliefs. The spiritual way to a higher- vibration and energetic state that restores you to light.
